I was pretty frustrated when I ordered the 4.4 pounds and didn’t check each skein in advance and I ended up with two out of eight being different color than the rest. I knitted the entire blanket with addition of fur yarn so there was no way to return it at that point. I posed a question and they never answered. Pretty expensive blanket to have it not have the right colors. Buyer beware to check your colors when you first receive it before you start knitting. I learned my lesson the hard way!Density of yarn is flimsy & breaks easily when tying together. Also a lot less yarn that I was expecting for the price. Michael’s has a bulk box of 12 skeins of Bernat Chunky yarn for the same price. Each of those is 32 yards. These are supposed to be 24 yards but don’t seem to be. 8 “clumps” of yarn made my 4’ wide blanket about 3’ long. Fine for a baby blanket but I wanted a blanket for myself.Yarn is soft and easy to work with. The yarn was less than I thought it would be for the price.8 Skeins made a big soft blanket that’s a new family favorite! Works up quickly and has a nice structure. This yarn is not just big, it’s huge! This is,, by far, the largest yarn I’ve ever attempted to use, and, I won’t ever order yarn that’s any larger. I am knitting it with American size 11 needles, on a circular needle I created for this purpose. The pattern is one with diamonds accented on a plain stockinette background.Knitting with such large yarn and large needles makes me feel like a kindergartener trying to write with crayons so large, I could barely manipulate them to draw approximations of the alphabet. I got better over time, and I believe that will be the case in this instance, but it is certainly a difficult start to a project that may take several weeks, We shall see how long it takes to make a throw with this yarn and what I think about the finished product. It will be a challenge, and knitters are known for accepting challenges. This Chenille Yarn for arm knitting a chunky blanket is just beautiful. I have already started knitting the blanket but I am using the size 8 knitting needles. There is certainly and generous amount of yarn. The yard as pictured is in separate skeins. However when it arrived it is loose in the package with string around each portion once you separate it. I have rolled it all in to balls since. Simple to work with and looks great. Love the quality and look of this chenille yarn. The Chenille Yarn Arm Knitting Soft Handmade Chunky Blanket DIY for Kint Blanket Pet Cushion Bed Home yarn arrived most impressively vacuum packed in a zip up plastic bag. It will of course never fit back in there again. The first thing I noticed is that the yarn is in loose bundles only held together by three ties of string, not in skeins or balls and with no labels or markings of any kind. The second thing I noticed was the smell- a chemical odor that had me coughing and choking. The yarn was immediately exiled to the garage. I did keep one hank inside to play with as the odor wasn't as bad with just one hank. I have no idea how many hanks are in the bag- I wasn't going to pull them out and count. I ordered 6.6 lbs/3 kg so according to the listing I guess I got 12 hanks? I don't know. The label on the bag only say the 6.6 lbs. It does say the yarn is washable- machine wash cold, tumble dry on low heat or air dry, do not use bleach, solvents or fabric softener and do not iron. [Who irons yarn?]It is made of "micro plush micro fiber that is hypo allergenic material. It will be your best friend." ??? [Who writes this copy?] It is soft but I have felt regular chenille that is much softer. It is almost the kind of micro fiber that sticks to your fingers but not quite. The listing suggests using 8mm/US 11 knitting needles and I tried it for the sake of trying but I think that size needle is much too small. It was difficult to pull the yarn through because it sticks to itself and I was afraid of breaking the yarn. You do get approx one stitch to the inch that way and the fabric is very dense. You don't want to pull on the end of the yarn because it does shred very easily. I might fold over the very end and sew a few stitches to stop that when I knit with it.It is nice enough yarn and I am thinking pet beds or throw blanket as long as the smell goes away.
